Burglary Near You - Rievaulx Avenue

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Rievaulx Avenue, this occurred on Thursday 19th March between 2100hrs and 2130hrs the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

Victim has left home address, suspect has then arrived approximately 6 hours later in a vehicle broken entry at the rear of the house, stolen jewellery before making their escape.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between  Thursday 19th March between 2100hrs and 2130hrs to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
